The Doctor was incredibly lucky to have such good stamina, because after a good ten minutes of running in whichever direction, he couldn't listen to the angry mob. Taking a moment to catch his breath, he began to run back to the site, this time making sure not to be noticed.

This time, the Doctor came behind the cage, kneeling down behind it. Cautiously, he pulled out his sonic screwdriver, and undid the binding. But he held John's hands together as a sign to at least fake being bound. Throughout the mix of smells, he could smell a distinct iron smell; blood. "Stay still. Don't you dare move until I tell you to." He whispered the command, still behind him to avoid getting caught.
